ANOTHER ROCK ANTHEM, 'GONE ALREADY' IS OUT TODAY. REJOICE!
Hull, UK alternative trio Strange Pink are today pleased to reveal the official video for their new single ‘Gone Already’, set for release on 8th September 2026.
Taking influence from Narrow Head, Elliott Smith and Dinosaur Jr the band describe ‘Gone Already’ with tongues firmly in cheek as “the closest that we’re going to get to an indie-rock summer hit.” Commenting on the single, vocalist Sam Forrest says: “‘Gone Already’ was originally meant to be a bleak midwinter waltz. I wrote it while hunched over an acoustic guitar playing along with a drum machine at my kitchen table in the middle of December a couple of years ago. The lyrics are kind of about feeling abandoned by society and facing up to a future spent in a derelict backwater.” “As a band, we tried playing it in its original form as a slow waltz for a couple of months but it wasn't working. Then in the last ten minutes of our last practice session before going into record the EP, we tried just playing it as a standard indie rock song and it suddenly worked.” The track is the latest to be taken from their evocative new EP Guest Room. Mixed by Nick “The Muscle” Russell (Bedsit, ROTHCO) and mastered by Ed Woods (The Who, Manic Street Preachers), the record is set for release on 23rd October 2026 via Desert Mine Music. Following an appearance at Humber Street Sesh Festival this summer, Strange Pink are also pleased to announce a run of UK live dates for winter 2026/27 with tickets on sale now (see below for listings). An impressive step forward for the three piece, forthcoming new EP Guest Room perfectly captures Strange Pink’s signature blend of hazy dream-pop textures and emotionally charged songwriting, while reflecting on shifting notions of space, identity, and the squeeze of modern life. Guest Room takes its conceptual cue from the changing function of domestic spaces in contemporary life, as bassist Eddie Logie explains: “Guest rooms have become an almost extinct phenomenon, a rare liminal space oddity that occupies the boundaries of late modernity, now transformed into offices, gyms, music studios and art spaces. The title isn’t a critique, merely a reflection of the changing times. An ode to a now nonexistent space.” Fronted by Sam Forrest, formerly of Nine Black Alps, Strange Pink channel years of combined musical experience into a more introspective and atmospheric sound. Drummer Dom Smith—who is also a journalist, mental health counsellor, and disability charity campaigner with Cerebral Palsy—brings a unique perspective and dynamic energy, while bassist Eddie Logie anchors the project with a distinctive sense of creativity and drive. Formed in 2024, the band released their debut EP Out Of Focus in 2025 via Forever Underdogs, gaining early support from underground tastemakers at ASBO Magazine, Mystic Sons and more for its accomplished introduction to the band’s sound. Building on their growing reputation following support from Jericho Keys at BBC Introducing, and recognition from influential DJs including Steve Lamacq at BBC 6Music and John Kennedy at Radio X, with the release of Guest Room, Strange Pink continue to establish themselves as a compelling new voice balancing introspection with expansive, immersive soundscapes.
